Dataverse Search provides a self-hosted JSON API gateway. The backend is independent of the website and may be unavailable until commercial search-source access is authorized and configured.

Base URL

https://api-search.trydataverse.com

Do not send admin credentials through the public API or the website. Use only an API key issued by the service owner. The website does not store your API key.

Public endpoints

GET /healthz reports gateway process health. GET /v1/meta reports source capabilities and whether search is enabled. GET /v1/account reports authenticated tenant usage. POST /search performs a web-search request when a source is enabled. POST /mcp implements an experimental authenticated JSON-RPC MCP subset, not a certified ChatGPT integration.

Availability and pricing

This is a technical preview, not a production SLA. Bing webpage search is active in Chromium on VM 103. Google is excluded because its browser session received a verification challenge. Upstream access and commercial redistribution permissions still require review. No live payments or subscription checkout is available.

Security

Requests from this website use a same-origin restricted proxy at /api/. Administration endpoints are not proxied. Issued API keys must be kept confidential and rotated if compromised.
